Our team of doctors follow you through your pregnancy, during labour & delivery and until 6 weeks postpartum. We also provide care for you and your newborn until discharge back to your family physician at 6 weeks postpartum.

Before your first appointment

Please print and complete the New Patient Questionnaire. If you are unable to complete the form prior to your first appointment, then please come 20 minutes early to fill out form in the office.

Please bring your AB Health Care Card and ensure that it is accurate. If you need to update or make changes to your AB Health Care, please visit the Alberta Health Website.

If you are new to Alberta and eligible for AB Health Care, we recommend you apply ASAP to avoid issues with insuring your newborn at the time of delivery. Download the application form and complete using Adobe Reader to ensure you have valid AB Health Care.

at your first appointment

  • Expect to be at the office for 1-1.5 hours as you will meet with our PCN nurse first and then your primary physician.

**To ensure your safety during COVID-19, please expect a call from our nurse in the days leading up to your initial prenatal appointment to complete the intake over the phone instead of in the office. You will still be seen in the office by your physician on the day of your initial prenatal appointment, but this will be a more condensed visit.

  • Your medical history and all pregnancy related tests will be reviewed.

  • Feel free to bring your partner.

routine prenatal visits

  • First visit until 30 weeks: monthly

  • 30 to 36 weeks: every 2 weeks

  • 36 weeks until delivery: weekly

Each prenatal visit includes monitoring your weight, blood pressure and your baby’s wellbeing.

**During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are following the WHO recommendations for fewer in-person prenatal appointments for low risk pregnancies. This is to ensure the health and safety of all our patients. Based on your specific pregnancy needs, your maternity care provider will make a personalized recommendation on how frequently you need to be seen in the office.
